Starline | commercial dishwashers and glasswashers manufactured by Washtech

Welcome to Starline

Starline products are manufactured in New Zealand by Washtech - Australasia's largest manufacturer of commercial glass and dishwashing systems.

About Us

Washtech was founded in 1981 by Des and Gary Brent to market an undercounter glass and dishwashing machine which Des had developed. As a dishwasher technician Des saw the need for a machine which was effective, efficient, robust, reliable and easy to service – a tradition still maintained by the company. Machines were initially built in Des’ garage in the Waitakere Ranges west of Auckland, but they soon moved to larger premises, and developed an entire range of professional wash equipment under the STARLINE brand. Constant growth required several moves before the company arrived at the present premises in the year 2000.

In 1989 Washtech entered the Australian market, promoting company products under the WASHTECH brand from a base in Brisbane, and quickly established a nationwide sales and service network.

In 1993 Washtech gained ISO 9001 certification which it has maintained ever since. In recent years ISO audits have been conducted by international group BVQI – confirming that Washtech complies fully with this prestigious standard.

In September 2000 Washtech was acquired by the ALI group, following their acquisition of Moffat. Washtech continues to distribute the STARLINE brand in New Zealand, and distribution of the WASHTECH brand in Australia is via Moffat.

Based in Italy, the ALI group is one the leading foodservice equipment groups in the world and includes such brands as Aladdin, Burlodge, Carpigiani, Champion and Dawson to name a few.
